My name is Jan Freerk Schilstra, a proud Dutchman, and in daily life working as a graphic designer. I founded Genesis Apparel in 2020 for a part of my study, and since then, it's been my way to use my creativity to build the kingdom of God.
OUR STORY
THE VISION
Genesis Apparel offers Christians from the Netherlands the opportunity to express their faith in a bold way. Each shirt has its own subject, which can be a Bible text, worship song or quote. All designs are uniquely designed and developed in-house, the printing is expressive and striking, in this way we can all be a billboard for God's great goodness.
THE PRODUCTS
Genesis Apparel has Christian principles and values at its core, which is why it is crucial that the production of our clothing is fair. The garments are made and printed in Scandinavia. The clothing is crafted from 100% organic materials in a factory where raw materials are actively recycled, and there is proper care for the workers. Fair, ethical, and social rights take precedence.
The garments are produced, packaged, and shipped per order in waterproof paper packaging made of 100% recyclable, plastic-free material. As a result, the delivery time may be longer than you are accustomed to, but we will never have to deal with overproduction and material waste.
"OUR" STORY?
Genesis Apparel has only one employee, and that's me, but fortunately, I don't have to do this alone! I run Genesis Apparel for and with the Lord; if that weren't the case, this brand would have ceased to exist long ago. There have been several times when Genesis Apparel was put on the back burner, and I considered bringing an end to this brand. Each time, I laid it before God, asking what He wanted me to do, and each time, I received a clear answer from Him. Twice, it happened in the 'ordinary' setting of my bedroom, and once, it was during a special encounter at a Royal Mission worship night. I can't tell you what God's plan is for Genesis Apparel right now, but I will continue to walk in trust and faith, and we will discover it together.
