Our Story
Since 2020
Genesis Apparel started in 2020 when I founded it as part of my studies. After completing that semester, I decided to continue independently. Since then, this has been my way of combining creativity and faith, while building God’s Kingdom.
The face behind the brand
My name is Jan Freerk Schilstra, graphic designer and proud Frisian. I run Genesis Apparel for and with the Lord. This brand is my way of combining creativity and faith, inspiring young people to wear their faith with confidence.
I believe that forgiveness and redemption await all who accept Jesus’ sacrifice, which is why we give everything we have to spread the Gospel.
The products
Our clothing combines a powerful message with fair, green, and sustainable production. The shirts we on print come from a company that is a leader in ethical and eco-friendly apparel manufacturing. Each shirt is printed by us, bringing every design to life with care and precision. We then ship the garments in FSC-certified, 100% recycled (22 PAP) mailers, which feature a print that spreads the message of faith even during transit. This way, every piece of clothing reaches you with attention to people and the environment, while carrying the message of the Gospel further into the world.

Genesis Apparel is an independent Christian clothing brand that aims to encourage and strengthen young believers. Our designs are bold, biblically faithful, and created exclusively for Genesis Apparel. Every garment is produced honestly and sustainably. In everything we do, we strive to let His Light shine and touch hearts with His Love. Rooted in the Word, we are building a brand that is honest, sustainable, and innovative; actively contributing to the spread of the Good News.
"Our" story?
Genesis Apparel has only one employee, that’s me. But fortunately, I don’t have to do this alone! I run this brand for and with the Lord; without Him, Genesis Apparel would have long ceased to exist. Over the years, the brand has gone through several quiet periods, moments when I considered stopping. When I laid it before God and asked what He wanted me to do, I received clear guidance. Sometimes in the quiet of my bedroom, sometimes during special moments. I trust that He is guiding the path for Genesis Apparel, so I follow in faith.
